‍REFINED MECHANICAL PRESS TECHNOLOGY

The EHW (eccentric, heavy, wide bed) series of presses has been refined and redefines the latest in mechanical press technology.  Our design is far superior when compared to crankshaft type.

‍BED FRAME DESIGN:

As you can see we use super thick steel plate in our beds, slide and crowns to keep press elongation and deflection to a minimum. All frame sections are heat treated after welding.

CROWN FRAME & DRIVE DESIGN: 

 Left to right crown aprons are double wall, thick steel plate as shown below.

Our main gears are cast steel and precision weight balanced (lower left). Both gear blanks are pinned together and then teeth are cut, ground and polished on a German gear cutting machines to exact tolerances. We use a double pitman design (lower right) with main gears on center line directly over the plungers that drive the slide up and down.

The overall crown and drive design allow us to use short shafts with less bending tolerances. Main gears and pitmans are lowered into the top of the press and then large bushed anchor blocks are installed on the front and back of the crown.

SLIDE & GUIDANCE DESIGN:

Fabrication of the slide is consistent with bed and crown for low deflection. As you can see below, the left to right aprons are of thick plate. The slide is guided by 8 point full length taper wedge gibing which is lubricated via automatic recirculating oil system. The two plunger guides deliver tonnage vertically unlike crankshaft style presses that have side thrust loads.
