Job Description:

At Sutherland Presses, the I-PRESS Manager is responsible for some of the modifications & changes to both Omron and Allen Bradley control platforms & ensuring that our clients receive outstanding project management & service for I-PRESS control sales, installations, repairs, training, troubleshooting and retrofits. They run the I-PRESS opportunity like it's own business and focus on creating exceptional response times & overall experience for our customers. Our I-PRESS Manager utilizes & refines all of the company’s technical resources (components, controls, suppliers, manuals, knowledge base, best practices, workflows) and manages and develops strong relationships with our global network of Certified Service Specialists. This role focuses on complex technical I-PRESS needs, as well as overall company strategy and a keen understanding that “service & control know-how is sales”. An ideal candidate needs to be aggressive, powerful, and have a love for turning challenges into opportunities. This role reports directly to the General Manager & Operations Manager.

Job Functions:

  • Advanced technical understanding of I-PRESS control platforms, options, suppliers, & certified service providers. 
  • Ability to modify & change programs on Omron and Allen Bradley platforms. 
  • Manages all aspects of I-PRESS control platform development & improvements.
  • Manages Subcontractors Duties & Timelines for I-PRESS
  • Support Manuals & Supporting Document Development
  • Updating all task lists for different platforms weekly and quarterly
  • Understanding of industry applications,  Sutherland press options & turnkey line capabilities
  • Provide technical solutions and support to both customers and internal teams.
  • Hold technical discussions with the customer to identify their specific project needs and  determine the best Sutherland control solution.
  • Ability to qualify, sell and close the project or opportunity.


  • Minimum 2 years experience programming Allen Bradley PLC’s
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in technical sales or service, ideally in the metal forming industry.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic presses and related industry applications
  • Must have excellent skills and a proven track record
  • Be target driven with a strong desire to achieve results.
  • Ability to extract, refine and present advanced control requirements. 
  • Strong Technical Aptitude & a willingness to continually learn
  • Press Industry experience a plus
  • 24/7 Availability to respond to urgent service needs across multiple time zones
  • Ability to host and present technical information to a wide audience a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed globally (Job will be based in Los Angeles)
